hungry.

well this weekend was pretty productive (despite my friday procrastination and me oversleeping and waking up in the afternoon on saturday.) It's about 330am and I'm taking a break from designing the FASA hoodie, a friends album cover and a friends tshirt design. I'm pretty pleased at how it's coming along right now... hopefully they will be pleased with it too. I really should go to bed now so I won't be late again for my morning class buuut I'm hungry from sitting in front of this computer for the past 5 and a half hours. Soooo this is what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna eat something light, design a little bit longer then sleeeep. Good lawd this is going to be a crazy week... I have about 10 million things due, half are side jobs and the other is school work. Why do I say yes to every job I'm asked to do? I have no idea why. Well on the bright side all this work will definitely help me grow (as a designer and my portfolio) and learn how to prioritize and balance everything so that I won't have to have 330am dinners anymore.

I'm foreal going to start posting up my work on this blog. I said I was going to post stuff back in July and I haven't done so yet.

This is the cover of the newsletter I did for my previous job at MSS (Multicultural Student Services) @ ODU back in May. It was a loooong process and it wasn't easy at times (especially since I was working on this during my final exams) but it was well worth everything. I'm glad I did it because now I have a better understanding of what goes on from start to finish in completing a 40+ page publication. This has definitely made me more knowledgeable in the printing field and has helped expand my resume a bit. =]

Contest.

I entered a piece I did a couple weeks ago that I gave as presents for jens & gabes 23rd in this contest. I need the money. So go vote! haha =] The contest ends in 8 days and I just found out about it. Ima be optimisitc despite the other thousand entries that I'm up against.

whew. maan these past couple weeks have been busy as hell. We got the Spectrum in about 3 weeks ago... and I am very very pleased with the final product! (I'll post pics of it soon) 2 months of working on that newsletter and it's finally finished. Feels really really good to see my name on the Executive Editor title. Man, I'm truly grateful to have such a great job... =] too bad my last day is at the end of next month... womp womp. Well besides that, summer school has been my life but at least it's goin' by real quick... we're already on our final project for the semester. holla. But I still have side jobs to complete. First is a t-shirt design for a friend since I already spent the money she paid me to do it haha and second, i need to start and finish this poster for the SGA office at school... maaan I've postponned that so many times. Thankfully , by the grace of god, i finished the other projects I had, yesterday, so now i have 2 things less to worry about. =]
My cali trip over this past weekend was a much needed vacation time haha. Shoot man, any chance I get to travel, I'll take it up in a heart beat. Although i was pratically there for only 2 full days plus a half, i still had the best time there. (I posted pics up on my flickaahh: http://www.flickr.com/photos/willaxation) I'm glad I went. Everytime I go back to Cali, I come back to VA refreshed and ready to take on whatever bs comes my way. I think I'm gonna start posting up my work here. I want to get involved with this one blog called Illustration Friday's. They're pretty dope at helping other artist out. Wow. That was random. Well it's 4am and I have class later... gahhh I still can't sleep right. Peace.

random.

I suffer from a mild case of insomnia which keeps me up late at night making me resort to things like writing on this blog, wasting time on myspace and doodling on pictures with illustrator. Well I've been reminiscing about last year lately. I remember this time last year the conversations I had with friends was mainly about what was going on for the weekend, what club were we goin to and if there were any parties. Now, it's mainly whens the next trip, when are you available this week/weekend, what job did you get/apply/interview for, when are you graduating and what are your plans after college. I'm already 21 and i STILL haven't done what I want to do yet at this age and I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. Although 21 is not old, it is the age where I need to get myself together and focus on what steps I need to take to reach my goals. Never in a million years would I have thought that I would be saying these words but I guess it's time for me to grow up and stop trying to push back time. Either way I'm going to enjoy this last year of school while getting grown haha. I want & need to travel (cause I gotta see the world before i reach the half century mark.) So far all I know is that the ATL is where I'll be in August, Las Vegas is where I might be in Winter, Bahamas is where I wanna be for Spring Break and Cali is where I'll end up to start my life after College.
